A former US Ambassador to Sweden, Barzun also has had a successful career as a technology entrepreneur and leader.
The National Finance Chair for Obama for America campaign, Matthew Barzun has also served as the United States Ambassador to Sweden from 2009 to 2011.
Prior to becoming Ambassador, Mr. Barzun had a successful career in business. Mr. Barzun joined CNET Networks as its fourth employee in 1993 and stayed with the internet company until 2004. During that time Mr. Barzun served as from Director of Innovation to Executive Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer. Mr. Barzun was responsible for helping further cement the leadership position of CNET Networks' business technology brands, including News.com, ZDNet, TechRepublic, and Builder.com. As chief strategy officer, he advised the CEO and the executive committee on business and organizational alignment across the company's divisions, including leading the efforts to define and communicate the company's mission, values, and corporate goals.
He has served on the boards of many non-profit civic organizations focused on education, public policy and interfaith relations.
